Viva Las Vegas – A Wedding To Remember
Las Vegas will always hold a special place in my heart as that is where we were married way back in August 1997! It was 107 degrees that morning. The Little Chapel of the Flowers, on the strip just past the Stratosphere. We were late for our wedding that day because we forgot our marriage license. Nothing like pulling up to Clark County Courthouse in a limo. Apparently people do it all the time. Our driver Bob was great. No, we didn’t elope, the wedding was planned. Family were there. It was perfect.
We stayed at the Luxor for our wedding, in a tower room. It was lovely. Since then we have been back many times. Again to the Luxor, staying in the pyramid. I do not recommend these rooms, I felt a little clausterphobic. The Paris Hotel is beautiful and a great location, as is Bellagio. A room overlooking the dancing fountains is a must. The last couple of times we have stayed at the MGM Grande. I really love this location as it is a pickup point for the Las Vegas Monorail.
Shopping
We aren’t really gamblers so it may seem weird that I love Vegas so much. Have you been shopping in Vegas?? The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace and the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian are so much fun. Catch the Atlantas Show at Caesars and take a gondola ride at The Venetian. When you want some lux in your life head to the Shops at Crystals where you’ll find Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and all the finest high end brands. Take the time to explore all of the hotels. They all have something unique and exciting to offer inside!
Thrills
Ride the Big Apple Rollercoaster at New York New York! It is so much fun! When you’re done stop at the Chocolate Bar for a chocolate Martini! Ride the Big Shot on top of the Strat. They no longer have the coaster, that was a lot of fun. They replaced it with the X-scream, but no way! I really don’t recommend the bungee either. I value my life. The High Roller will give you endless views of Vegas. Don’t forget to head over to the original Vegas, Fremont Street. You can explore the old casinos or zipline above the crowds. If you have time rent a car and drive out to the border where you will find more coasters. Maybe take a trip to the Hoover Dam?
Shows
No trip to Vegas is complete without some shows. Cirque du Soleil is always amazing. David Copperfield never disappoints. Maybe a burlesque show? No matter your preference there is something for everyone.
