Turks and Caicos, Paradise Found
Turks and Caicos had been on our bucket list for quite some time so we decided for our 25 year wedding anniversary that is where we would go. It was definitely a pricey trip but I budgeted where I could. We stayed on the beautiful Grace Bay beach. The weather was perfect, the sand was as soft as baby powder and the water was crystal clear blue. Seriously, you could see all the way to the ocean floor. It is at the top of my list for most beautiful beach destinations.

Where We Stayed In Turks and Caicos
I chose the Royal West Indies Resort, not just because it was budget friendly, but because it had a full kitchen. We stayed in a studio suite overlooking the beach. The pool and hot tub were fabulous. There were always plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas available at the beach. Best of all it was quiet.
The resort is just a short walk from shopping and some nightlife, though I noticed most places close very early. There is a casino next door that is open late. I knew from research it would be hard not only to find vegetarian options, but also gluten free options. The resort was just a short walk from town so we were able to go to the grocery store and load up on celiac safe food for the week. Honestly, this was perfect for us. I did not find the island to be celiac friendly for vegetarians. If you eat fish or chicken you may have more options.
Fun Excursions in Turks and Caicos
There are many things to do Turks and Caicos, even though the island is laid back. The bay is great for paddle boarding and kayaking as the waters are very calm. I definitely suggest a trip to Noah’s Ark. This is a floating bar in Half Moon Bay. It is easy to get to, there is a ferry that leaves from Blue Haven Marina several times a day. You can also rent jet skis at Blue haven Marina if you are up for an adrenaline rush.
Something I do no matter where I am is a sunset cruise. This was definitely one of my most memorable. We chose the 2 hour adults only Champagne Sunset Cruise and I cannot recommend it enough. The crew was amazing and the sunset was, well, I have no words.
We are water babies and we love to snorkel. We chose the 4 Hour Catamaran Snorkel Sail that also took us to Iguana Island. I didn’t really keep track of time but I think we were gone longer than that. We had the same amazing crew from the sunset cruise! This was one of the best snorkeling experiences because I got to snorkel with two sharks. Bucket list check!!
Downtime in Turks and Caicos
Most of the time was spent just lounging on the beach. The resort had bikes you could use and we took those exploring one day. We also walked into town and did a little shopping. It is just a short 10 minute walk. Whatever you decide to do don’t forget to just relax!
