First, be aware of cross contamination sources such as blenders and anything on tap. For example, ask the bartender to make sure to clean the blenders and shakers first before making your drink. I usually avoid those frozen daiquiris in the machines not knowing exactly what mixes are in them. I always let my bartender know that I am celiac and must avoid gluten. Sometimes I get lucky and they know what I can and cannot have, even personalizing recipes for me.

Personally, I have never been a beer drinker so I will not be recommending any gluten-free beers, although I know they exist. However, I have found a love for cider and there are several that I like. Similarly, I do not drink red wine so I can’t recommend those. I like the bubbles, champagne, sparkling moscato, riesling. Likewise, I love a good cocktail, so I am forever on the hunt for gluten-free alcohol and mixers. Here is a list of what I have found and enjoy so far.
When choosing gluten-free alcohol, always check the label and do your research, as ingredients and production methods vary between brands. It’s also a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider to ensure you’re making safe choices based on your specific dietary needs.
I had a very difficult time figuring out what alcohol I could have after diagnosis. I hope this list of gluten free alcohol and cocktails is helpful to you!
