Escape To Beautiful Sandals, Grande St. Lucian
Looking to visit St. Lucia? It is one of the most beautiful islands I have been to and the Sandals Grande St. Lucian is no exception. Full disclosure, it’s been a while and I really want to go back. It was one of the first “grown up” trips my husband and I went on back in the day. I had broken my tailbone the week before so I was in a lot of pain and unable to do many of the activities. I don’t think I was able to fully appreciate everything the island had to offer.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian
We stayed at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. Looking back I wonder how we were able to afford this. Sandals is obviously known for is luxury properties and service, but did you know they are also one of the top rated allergy friendly resorts? Great for us celiacs. Sandals Grande St. Lucian, like all Sandals, is an all inclusive, adults only, couples resort. There are actually 3 Sandals on the island and you can resort hop and visit each of them. Situated on on its own peninsula in Rodney Bay, the waters were calm and the views were postcard perfect as you would imagine.

The Sandals Grande St. Lucian was massive, yet cozy and romantic. Twelve restaurants ranging from Italian to Indian to Japanese, there was something for everyone. We are not fancy eaters so we found ourselves at the buffet most days. Honestly, I get annoyed at having to make reservations in advance. There are 5 pools, 7 bars, a fitness center and a Greg Norman golf course.
Daily and nightly shows to keep you entertained. The evening shows are always entertaining. I tend to get bored easily and like to have something to look forward to after a day relaxing at the beach. I am a water baby so I love the fact that the all inclusive watersports include not only paddle boarding, but wakeboarding and windsurfing!
Exploring The Island
We did a lot of hiking around the property. It is a really beautiful area with a lots of places to explore. We took a jungle tour and saw some massive spiders! Downside to that was the ride was in the back of a truck through some rough terrain. Not great for people with injuries. I didn’t think that one through.
The most fun we had by far was the sunset cruise. You know I take a sunset cruise everywhere we go. This one was full of dancing and friendly back and forth with a pirate ship. We met some amazing people and made new friends.
Overall, I really enjoyed our stay at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The fact that the Sandals resorts are celiac friendly is one reason I will come back. The staff are always friendly and ready to help with all your needs.
